How many augmentable realities are there?
The simplest answer to this question is: all reality. The RA – often the acronym is found in English, AR, augmented reality – is a tool of great power and versatility. Below are some examples that can give an idea of the fields of application.
FIREFIGHTERS
In a service of the CNN television network it can be seen how the conditions of very critical visibility that firefighters can encounter when facing a fire – very dense fumes that occupy all the space – can be overcome with masks that provide technical data and indicate ways of exit due to a map of the building.
ARCHEOLOGY
Archaeologists often report that nothing is further from the original reality of a visit to the Imperial Fora of Rome. With an RA helmet the tourist can have a continuous comparison between what is left and the original buildings that archaeological research has been able to reconstruct. On the Arkeotekno website we find one of these possible comparisons
IN SALA IN THE OPERATING ROOM
A simple illustration of how the RA – in this case from glasses studied by Facebook – can give all the necessary and boundary information to a surgical intervention. As can be seen from other sections of this site, VOSTARS wants to achieve very advanced results in this direction
IN INDUSTRY
One of the areas in which the RA is expanding rapidly is one in which it is applied to the construction and / or maintenance of very large and complex machines. An airliner, for example. In the image we see a technician wearing a Jean Perrot helmet. In the foreground he observes the panel on which he must intervene, but the helmet transmits to him what is under that panel and the data relating to all the equipment
AUGMENTED HYPER-REALITY
On the Next Reality website, at this link: https://youtu.be/YJg02ivYzSs, find a video that mixes many RA solutions, imagining a sightseeing tour in a city, starting from a bus where you can spend time with a video games to get to a walk in a street full of shops and then to shop in a supermarket. The whole thing is a bit scary but well describes the potential of the RA
